The Silver Springs show, sponsored by NPD, is just around the corner. It is the weekend of Jan 8-10. Over 1600 people have pre-registered for the show. So have several members here. It should be a GREAT weekend starting off on Friday morning with the Pony Trails, with perhaps 150 classics leaving NPD's headqurters in Ocala and travelling across the back roads to Cedar Key, a small fishing village on the Gulf, then back to NPD for deals and a visit to the Schmidt's car museum, containing 170 SUPER sweet low mileage classics. You name it, it's there.

Saturday, you need to get to the Silver Springs park at the crack of dawn to insure good parking. Then you can stroll through the biggest all Ford show in the South. Last year, we had 16 Mavs & Comets, 25 Cougars, and 19 Falcons all arranged in close proximity of each other. That's not counting the Fairlanes, Rancheros, and other non-Mustang Ford entries at the show, and of course, several hundred Mustangs. Saturday night, our local Mustang club hosts a barbeque at NPD with a live band, plenty of food, and access again to the museum of cars. NPD will be open for purchases, too. Cost is only $12.50 per person and you can still buy tickets at the show. Last year, we had over 400 attend.

Sunday is Awards Day and not as crowded on the show grounds, a good day to relax and visit with others.

So, who, besides me, will be there? Bringing a car? Hopefully, next year, I will have the red Comet GT ready for the show. This year, I will be bringing 2 Cougars. They usually park the Cougars next to the Maverick/Comets, so I am looking forward to visiting with you folks at the show.

    See ya there.

No Sprints at all this year, Brad. The Pinto will stay warm and snugly, under it's 2 blankets, at home this year. I plan on redoing the seats in the Stang Sprint this next year. Maybe someone else will bring a Maverick Sprint next year, and we can bring them all out again. Ray, get to work on yours! The red GT is currently ahead of my Maverick Sprint in the finishing schedule.

    Jim,

Come on down! It would be a pleasure to see as nice an example as your Sprint Maverick. I have no doubt that it will be stunning! Being retired, it would be a very nice weekend trip for you and your lovely lady.

So, Dave, when in March will you be coming down? The Spring Daytona show is the 19th-21st. It is the 2nd largest classic car show in the state. Our statewide Cougar club has our annual meeting there. They let us use the clubhouse for the meeting. We usually have 30+ Cougars at the show. If you are down at that time, come on over. There are usually a few Mavericks at the show, big swap meet, always a good time. We make a weekend of it and usually book half the rooms at the Jameson Inn in Ormond Beach. Pizza party Fri night, cookout at the show, dinner at the hotel, and raffle. Love to have you join us.

Lil and I will be there again, and this time for Saturday and Sunday.

We will most likely be in her Mustang again. My Comet has had a lot of progress this year, but not enough to get it there. Still need to reupholster the interior.

We would like to do the BBQ ... they sent out a form in the mail. You are saying that I can buy tickets on the spot during the day Saturday?

    Jeff,
Hope you are feeling well enough to make the trip... had a good time with you last year.
