Has anyone run the exhaust like on the brazillian mavs with side effects but up higher thru the rocker panel? I have been thinking about it. I want the side exit exhaust but I think the pipes seem to low when run under the car. Maybe run the brazillian type tips thru where I put the cruddy black oval. Brazillian tips my mav
no none that i know of or you can have them come out of the rear panel ? and it looks a bit easy'r to do
that area is structural area of the body. it will be difficult to not comprimise the integrity of the car
I had also thought of maybe running them out the rear valance in the center like so http://www.bbexhaust.com/suv/cherokee/images/cherokee-srt8-tips-closeup.jpg or like saleens http://image.automobilemag.com/f/81...008_saleen_s302E_sterling_edition+exhaust.jpg
If I do it I will sleeve the area with some thick wall tubing, plus with a cage and subframes I wouldn't think it would be too bad, but I have been wrong before.
Rear center exhaust gets my vote. Its pretty easy just have two 90 degree pipes face each other after the axle back. You can tie them together so they share the exhaust, or just turn them out.
The rear exit would run your exhaust under your fuel tank - not a good idea or around the outside and the back to the middle which would also heat the fuel tank. The side exhaust would be easier to manage with a "boxed-in" exit hole that maintains the structural integrity of the unibody construction.
this is how the stock saleen exhaust is routed http://www.mrbodykit.com/images/mustangsaleenexhuast.jpg
Thats how I said to do it also im pretty sure the stangs have their fuel tanks under the rear seat area.
I really like the way the Saleen exit looks But, if you were able to bore a hole through rear of the rocker, in front of the tires, weld a larger piece of tubing solid within the rockers for the pipes to exit through. This would actually make that area of the rocker stronger in the long run.
hey can someone fotoshop a maverick with these exhaust mod's to get am idea of what they would look like
Maybe you can make like the one seen in the TVR's SAGARIS : http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2004/2004-TVR-Sagaris-R-Car-Show-1280x960.jpg It's a little weird at first glance but it's also very original and it could help you solve your side exhaust problem IMHO
