Ok, I was just wondering if there was anybody near santa maria, CA to do or walk me throught the shock towers. Because i dont have the equipment or the experince to do something that could make or break my car. The guy i normally go to for this type of stuff said i should junk the car instead of trying to fix it up( it is crappy but i wanted to start from nothing cause its my first rebuild) so i guess if someone could just pm me if they are with in towing distance or they could bring out there equipment. Thanks

You're not getting much help, are you?

I had a guy in the 'hood show up a couple weeks ago, and asked if I would do his for him...nope!

It is not a difficult job, just requires basic knowledge, time, and space for the car to sit while it is torn apart. Get the dimensions from the threads on here. I cut mine with a die grinder and an air compressor. An electric 'saws all' would have worked better, I wish I would have rented one from Home Depot or Lowes. I rented a wire-feed welder from Home Depot for one day, and used two rolls of wire. I used a circular saw with a metal cutting blade to cut the stock plate.

Basically, what I am saying is, you can rent the tools, and do it yourself. I never used a wire feed welder, and have only a couple hours experience using an arc welder, yet mine turned out fine.

I wouldn't expect someone to volunteer to do this kind of job. Just because it takes a bit of work and time. Mine was torn down for almost 2 months (one month I was out of town for work) and the tear down, cutting, welding, and rebuild took total about 20-30 hours.

Get on it and go for it!!!

Lots of guys have done it, and there is plenty of instruction, hints, suggestions, etc on the forum. Read through it and decide if it is something you want to do.

    You won't regret it afterwards.

Best thing is if you completely screw it up, you will have a good excuse to put in a MII front end and lose the shock towers completely!

no offense, but if you screw that up, what makes you think a person would be capable of installing a mustang II front end ?

OK, let me re-phrase that... If you screw it up, you could HAVE a MII front end installed...
