replacing tubes and spark plugs

    1972 ford maverick
    Im gonna replace all the tubes and spark plugs in my maverick. Ive never replaced a hose except a fuel filter is there any depressurize I have to worry about with any of the other hoses, or am I able to jus take off old ones put on new. And the spark plugs ive never done so if someone can explain tht in simple terms thay help a lot

    I have one. I would sell it, because most of my car is no longer "Maverick", but shipping would cost more than the book!

    I also started out with the Mustang II Haynes manual, which was more help most of the time. More in-depth detail for more of the car's systems.

    But for basic stuff, that Chilton's manual is pretty good.

    Unless you are having problems with your rubber vacuum hoses....I see no reason to replace them. I would replace the rubber fuel lines just to be safe. Some fuel will spill/spray out of them when removed if the car was recently driven.

    Well all the hoses looj dry rotted. I see no leaks yet but I wanna avoid it before it does.

    If they look dry rotted...then replace.

    if you fold the hose and you can see cracks...replace it...:yup:

    take a...razor knife... and split the hose where it connects, then peel it off. don't try to pull a stuck on hose off...especially the hose on the...heater core ports.
