Wow, it seems like I always have something going on, but hey...atleast it keeps things interesting! Anyway, today's problem is that my alternator belt broke on the way to work and I need to replace it. No big deal. I will need to remove the AC compressor belt to get to the alternator belt location. The question I have is if there would be any problems if I didn't put my AC belt back on. My AC needs a recharge and isn't working currently anyway. I don't want to assume anything because that usually gets me into trouble.

    As always, thanks!

Should not hurt, as long as that belt doesn't drive anything else. Just to be on the safe side I would unplug the wiring at the compressor so the clutch isn't being energized needlessly at anytime without it turning.

If U have a and 8 cyl. engine, I don't think it shud not be a problem. The AC belt on my car is only for the AC. I ran it for a long time w/o the belt. My car has pwr steering; I can't say it's the same for non-pwr steering. If u have pwr steer 8 cyl u shud be OK w/o the belt.

Ahh...makes sense. I'll be sure to disconnect the compressor wiring. Thanks for the heads up!
