hey guys I went to get my hair cut yesterday. While I was sitting waiting for my turn I picked up a hot rod magazine and found an interesting article. It was a 11 sec 1/4 mile car maverick with a 255ci straight six. The engine had been bored 30 over and had a pretty small turbo on it. The engine had a stock head on it and was making about 350 hp. I can't imagine a stock head holding up to that amount of boost (11psi) for very long but maybe a aussie head would. I was just thinking man it would be nice to just make a monster straight six that made an enormous amount of hp with twin turbo. I think some research is needed and alot of part searching think bout get back with me and let me know what you think.
Finish your 347 car first Yeah, I have seen some decent articles on turbo charging larger 6-cylinder cars and getting really good results. My wife's Bonneville is a 3.8L v6 with a blower, and it gets up really good, for a big and heavy grocery-getter. That is stock. I can only imagine what it would do with a couple of bolt on parts, smaller pulley, etc. Currently, I think they say it only has 238 HP or so, maybe more, but it moves that car along nicely, AND gets 32mpg if you drive it nicely
finishing off the 1st project heck yea the 347 project is coming along nicely. I'm currently doing all the body work and hope to have the vehicle finish at least the body work minus the primer and paint by the end of november. I also dropped my wifes digital camera when I removed the cancerous apillar, so I tore it all apart and repaired it too. Man it works good I'm glad cause I bought her a new one and now I have one of my own.:bananaman
