Have any one ever tried to put a rear spoiler from 70-73 Maverick on a 74 or new Maverick. If you were to take the rear quarter panel extensions of the spoiler and the rear quarter panel extensions of the 74 and cut them in the center and weld them together, would this work. I believe the blade should fit with out any problems. I would have to have this done by a custom shop (I'm not that good of a body man). I would need a pair of 74 - 2 door rear quarter panel extensions, to have cut. I wouldn't want to wreck the ones on the car.

The trunk blade will fit. Cutting and welding the extentions may be a bit more than you expected. They aren't made of the same metal as the body. It is a die cast metal, like pot metal. Anything can be put together if you have the right equipment and know how, but you need to have someone who has the knowledge of working with this type of metal and what to do it with.

The 1974 and up quarter extensions are made of plastic....so welding is out.

It can/has been done....so all is not lost.

The trunk section bolts on. Then its just a matter of either modifying you existing quarter extensions to match the spoiler or modifying the spoiler extensions to match the bumper. I would do the second choice. I think if you shaved off the kick out on the bottom of the spoiler extension, you could probably use some of that panel adheasive, that the body shops use, to graft the lower section of your current extension, to the bottom of the spoiler extension. Then just smooth it all out with bondo.
