I may need performance leaf springs. I have looked a race leaf springs for mustangs. What year would closely fit on our cars? Mustang Plus have all kinds of stiff stuff.

What makes you think you need performance leaf springs?? What do you want to do with the car? Will you be racing the car?? Drag or road course?? Are you having traction problems?? What's your current setup??

A road course & a little drag racing just to see what it will do. I need for it the be stiff because I'm trying to fit a 295/35/18 or 315/30/18 tire under the back of the car. The tires will be extremely close to everything so to pull this off, I don't need alot of body movement up & down nor side to side. I'm going to put a 7/8 sway bay to help with the body movement.

I"d say just a good multi-leaf spring, I don't think a mono-leaf would be good for what you're wanting to do.....maybe some shelby under-ride bars also....

I saw some mustang 4 & 5 leaf sets but I don't know what year would fit under the Maverick or if they will fit at all. What is a shelby under-ride bars?

I called JC Whitney & they gave me a price of $120, then I will spend $85 to get them dearched witch is fine. But for the same price I can buy a high performance or race application mustang sping from Mustang Plus. you can get them with 1.5 inches drop already in them also. I'm think these might be a little more toward what I might need but not sure.

I think lowering blocks would be better than de-arching. The JCW Springs are pretty much the stock arch...

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
just use the ones from JC.. use the 3 leafs... unless you like a jacked up car with 315 sticking out of the sides don't go with the 4 leafs... and since you have 18's you know what i'm talking about... the car needs to be low to make those wheels look right.

i don't think you don't need a landrum type spring for that kind of set up you going for... drag maybe.. but you can get away with a nice new non-saging stock leaf.... note the car will corner like crap with mono type leafts.... i'd suggest just geting a poly bushing set up for them.. or if your crazy get some delums  .. (and if your running cal tracs.. they are almost the same thing for the front eye bushing as a delum. (sorry can't spell might be spelled differant :p ))

personally i'd just dearch them.. screw the lowering block.. like the mini trucks theirs a right way to lower it and a mickey mouse way... the right way to do it is the either turn them upside down, relocate the eyes or dearch them. though a block would work you'll still not sloving chaing the old sagging leaf including the old rotted bushings.

oh yeah... remember while lowering it you'll also be changing the pinion angle so you might wanna wedge the axle to get the angle right... i think moroso makes a kit.

you could also run a watts bar if you want.. that would be trick.. seen them on mustangs but never on a maverick. hum? next project for me

also note that if whomever is deaching them you make it clear to them if its not the right height will they re-do them.
    good luck

I have the 4-leafs from JCW and they did not jack the rear up at all. Same with Mavaholic's car...

The 4-leafs from Maverick Connection sent the rear of my car to the moon......I just pulled the second shortest leaf out and it settled it down.....

I've heard that there is no Mustang spring that will cross over to a Maverick, the front half of the spring is a couple inches longer on a Maverick than a Mustang. Don't know this for a fact but when I was looking for springs that is what I was told by P.S.T.

Happy Thanksgiving day. I didn't get on the net yesterday. Gunslinger68 thats good infor. Now I know for a fact to do what the others suggested. T.L. I had a bad problems with blocks on my S10. I cracked one in three pieces. I dodn't know how because it only has about 230 HP so it was not because of me spinning the rear tires. So now I only dearch springs. Well 3 leafs is the only way. The company that make springs told me $245 to rebuild & dearch my stock springs. I thought this was a bit to much so i have been looking around to just buy a new set.

Maverick Man we will see how your watts link will work...i have found a guy here that makes complete tube chasis for drag cars. He will try to make a rear sub that will allow me to run a 6.40 inch backspacing mustang wheel with out hitting the frame rails. he's being working on this for a few days now. He mentioned something about putting the leafs inside the rails. That's the reason behind the stiff stuff. Just to help keep the car off the tires. THANKS EVERYONE
