Well I just found out that I need to pull the entire rear end from a 5 lug Mav/Comet. I already had new bearings put on a pair of axles I had from another 5 lug, then I heard that the bearing sizes are different & that I could not just slip these axles into the ol 4 lug housing! Just great!!!

Has anyone else used a complete axle 8" housing from a 67-70 Mustang/Cougar? My buddy says they look similar but has not taken exact measurements. Please let me know any info on this, thanks...

5 lug axle will not fit in a 4 lug axle housing ....

The bearing size on 4 lug axle is smaller ...

If I remember the mustang/couger housing is wider than a mav housing...

The Mustang rear is 2.75 inches wider
