    1) There is a star shaped metal piece that fits over the backing plate post on the rear brakes. I have seen these before on early Falcons but they do not show up in my 64 Falcon Manual. While tearing down the rear brakes on the Maverick, I once again found these. Can anyone shed some light on their purpose?2) I am looking for new barrel springs for the parking brake transverse piece that connects the two shoes. These are missing out of every hardware kit I have purchased. Are these available new anywhere?

That is strange. I seem to recall seeing those springs in a kit.

email me directly (see below) and I will see if I have some extras I saved froma kit.
