Its not rare at all. But a working AC will add about 5% to 10% to the value. A non working AC is just worthless.

I have seen far more with A/C than without...
But that is just me and may not be how the production actually breaks down.
Out of all the Mavs I have owned, the one I have now is the only that did not come with it.

Hard to say. You'll have to run a pressure check on the system to determine if there are amy leaks before you put freon in there. This is a must and should be done by someone in the business. Its not something that can be done without specialized tools.

AC on a Maverick is pretty rare up here in the snow belt. In my opinion..AC adds to the value quite a bit....esepcially if it works. Non-working AC can cost up to $1000 to get it working. If it is not working....I would say AC adds maybe $100 to $200 to the car in value.

I never saw an AC Maverick/Comet in the north east. The first time I saw one was at the Roundup.

    Weight savings from removal?

I wondered how much the compressor and brackets, engine compartment hoses, receiver/dryer, and condensor together weigh? I want to rmove and store the items from my non-working system for future use.

I don't know the exact weight, but I have removed several and they are HEAVY.
    At least 10 rwhp heavy.
100 lbs gone = 10 rwhp effective gain.
