my p/s is losing fluid so quick its not even funny. its leaking out of where the metal hose goes into the nut that screws into the stering box under the car. its the hose that had the bigger fitting on the p/s pump, above the other one. Im kinda stuck at my girl friend's house right now so any quick help would be great. would pep boys even have one?
Your stuck huh? Don't know why you want to leave in such a hurry but it won't be any better if you get the pump from Pep Boys, you'll have to move in.
ah her parents are a** holes. its not the pump its just that one hose fitting thats losing alot of fluid
Try to loosen the nut to the hose then tighten the big nut then retighten the hose nut. I think the hose is 5/8 and the big one is 1".
ok I think I got it. I losened it up and tightened it down again and it seems to be holding for the 15 miles Ive put on it since. For future refrence, If the P/S pump went dry would there be any chance of permenet damage to it? I wouldnt have to worry about siezing up the pump or anything would I? Thanks
