I have had the mav running for about a month, it has started every time accept today. I turned the key and nothing,no clicking. no turning over nada. I turned the ignition on and jumped the solenoid and it started and ran. what im wondering is if the neutral safety switch is bad will it run? or do I just have a bad solenoid again?
mine would do the same thing when the neutral safety switch in my B&M shifter went bad (less than a year)...got replacements from Summit...
if the NSS was bad.. the car wouldn't have started when you jumped the solenoid. replace that typical old Ford failure.. and you should be back in business PS.. yeah they can. A simple looped bypass wire is the easiest way to eliminate that variable during troubleshooting and to avoid needlessly throwing parts at it. Just remember that all cars without one can be very dangerous.. and especially if others drive the car since the chances for issue go up exponentially as you add more drivers/miles.
