I'm just goofing off here and was wondering how much a 1972 Maverick 2 door weighs? I mean on a scale not GVW. I was playing around with the power to weight ratios! If I could down to 5.8:1 I could run with a Hayabusa!:yup:

My 72 Sprint with aluminum heads, intake & radiator, 4 speed, 9", steel wheels, and a full tank of gas hit 3040 lbs on a certified CAT scale.

Depending on the model, the interior package and other options the weight will be between 3000 and 3200 pounds (curb weight) add to that your weight and then divide by the ratio you want - that will give you the HP needed to get the performance.
5.8 pounds per pound is not very realistic for a street car - you will need up to 550 HP.
Not to say it can't be done - just that it would be a bit extreme for a street machine.
