I put my 71 up for sell from what happened recently the frustration and yes I will admit hurt feeling made me give up on it. Got a 77 in trade was going to do that one instead..but sold the 77 for $1800 5 mins ago..didn't even have it online for sell. :16suspect Guy drove by saw it stopped to chat with me while I was trying to mow the lawn , asked if he could sit in it exc exc...
Offered me $1800 figured he wouldn't come back..he came back with cash in hand...so my 77 is gone and here I have my heartbreaking 71.
So considering spending the $1800 on fixing my 71...even though I have other things I should use the $1800 on.
I am sure I am over thinking this, and letting "EMOTIONS" what are those..? Get in the way of my love of mavericks.

    I think ....therefore I make myself miserable.

You had a 77 also? Good thing they didn't bust the windows out of it. Considering all the trouble you've had with the 71, and what you got for the 77, it would have been the better car to keep, especially if you got 1800 for it. Wow.

Dunno where he lives but in most of the country a pre-75 is far more desirable in the long run.

Somebody must have really wanted the car, I'd love to see pictures of it.

Sure roll down the list of states and their emissions standards. You'll notice a solid trend: 1967, 1975, and rolling 20-25 years.

This makes certain cars slightly more desire-able than others to some people.

I suppose though that I was incorrect before. It wouldn't be most. But it also holds true that there was a drastic change in engines and aesthetics in 74/5. which would make a 71 of almost any car more desirable than a 75.

One reason why a gent who was bragging to me that his '76 mustang cobra was one of 5 registered in the state I looked him in the eye and said yea, because it's probably not anywhere near as desirable as a pre-70s mustang. Let alone a pre-75.

I live in Post Falls Idaho...its east of Spokane Washington.
    So north of you. :biglaugh:

I love the 71 dash..no glove box and a tray is awesome and not to mention it already has the small bumpers. I was just wanting to sell the 71 due to the smash and slash really...put a major cloud of my head.
Soooo glad I didn't sell my 71 I would of regretted it. Its the first car I saw that I loved...and I somehow got one..yeah needs alot of work but hey so do I :bouncy:

I got it monday it sold by friday. Traded 2 hunting rifles for it.
The 77 was by far not the better of the 2,my 77 was sitting in front of my dads house whos lawn I was mowing, the person who bought it was actually at the garage sell across the street, before he came over to chit chat about my car..he thought it was a mustang fastback.. :16suspect
So had to go into what it was, and gave him this website addy so you should see pics I hope..I hadn't even had time to take one. I saw the add under barter on craigslist he had not pics..but was only 8 mile walk to see so I went lol...feet still hurt, remind me to buy better shoes :16suspect He did give me a ride to pick up my guns though and i drove him back and dropped him off. I am glad I hadn't paid to put the car in my name and get plates yet.

I had bought my 71 for $1600, put a new exhaust $286 , dash pad $105 with shipping, tires...glass..still no windshield...wonder how long thats going to take exc exc exc. The 77 ...I know it ran, needed interior a dash pad, tires were bald.. rust in trunk..but hadn't really looked at it close yet. Heck my 71 I haven't started stripping down yet still could find something nasty in the floor pans ...hope not.
