Tail light and license plate light didn't work.
Got off with a verbal warning and a walkaround for the cop who loved my car. Said he was glad I didn't decide to run because he probably wouldn't have caught me...he was in a Hemi Charger policecar! Whatever, gawd bless Flomasters for making my car at least SOUND like it can run!
Anyway, I take it to Advance the next day and notice the passenger outboard socket is a 2 wire...say what? The drivers side is a 3 wire and works fine so...wtf? I go inside and buy a 3 wire socket and trial and error it until I give up. It didn't work! Wouldn't get bright, no blink, nothing. Just a dim light. Wait. Turn on the freaking car you idiot. Ta Daaaa! it works! I drive home without thinking about the illumination bulb being blown. I remember and used a modified 1157(filed off the higher knob) and it works great with no bulb cover. Problem solved.

Thanks for reading, this has been an update on PAINTANKs Comet.

I got pulled over Sunday night on the way back from NC. Georgia State Patrol clocked me doing 77 in a 65 coming off a big hill. Opps. He gave me a written warning. They've got black chargers here with orange lettering, stealthy as hell at night. Can't even tell your coming up on one until your headlights hit that reflective orange lettering on the side, and it's too late!

    I haven't gotten pulled over in . . .
well it has been a very long time. I have learned that if I go the speed limit and drive in a decent manner they don't even see me.
The last time I was pulled over was for out of date tabs... just forgot to put hem on. the lady cop let me go because I was an associate member of the Police firing range.

at least you got pulled over for something. I was driving home from the local Costco and accidentally missed my turn off. so i took turn onto a sidestreet pulled into a nice spacious apartment complex parking lot. turned around, got back onto the street and got pulled over within 3 blocks of getting back onto the main road. when i asked the cop why he pulled me over i was expecting something like a light out or a speeding or anything. His response was that i was pulled over for going in and out of that apartment complex and he wanted to search my car for drugs. 20 minutes of explanation later my car STILL gets searched for drugs and of course the cop finds nothing, but i still get a written warning for cruising in a known hot spot for drugs...

Also got a written warning for expired tags right after i bought my comet. the tags were expired for about 4 days the dmv hadnt been open yet and it was the same day i bought the comet (a saturday). Me and my brother-in-law and my son were in the car taking it for a little cruise to determine exactly what we needed to purchase for the car the next morning to fix up on it. and the cop spotted us coming off the freeway. i had pulled into a store to buy some beers for the next day and some sodas for the drive home. the cop had apparently cruised through the lot found my car and waited for us at the back exit for us to come out. pulled us over about 2 blocks away and asks us if we had been in an accident (the car has front end damage but all of the lights have been replaced and it looks like old damage obviously). then proceeds to run background checks on me, my bro-in-law AND my son as well as run the car through a stolen vehicle check. 45 minutes later we get a written warning for the 4 day expired tags and sent on our way.

cops seem to only pull me over for stupid reasons. I don't speed, and I don't drive recklessly. Wish they would leave me alone and pull over someone else.

Ok, I'm usually mellow when it comes to getting pulled over but that would have pushed me over the edge I'd have to say. A warning... for driving... uncalled for.

Cops have a tough job. I wouldn't want it since most of the time they are dealing with the dregs of the earth. I was pulled over once in the Maverick after leaving an auto parts store for not pulling out into the lane closest to me. I had to laugh when he told me, I said it's a manual steering 30 year old car. Turns out that there was a bar in that same complex and he was really looking for an excuse to check for drinking and driving. I really don't have a problem with that. He let me go without a ticket. No harm, no foul.

    Could be worse...

Almost 15 years ago, I got pulled over at gunpoint by three cops at 11 AM on a Thursday, while in a nice part of town. Just minding my own business ... three guns pointing at me all the sudden.. quite a rush there.

Turns out that some dirtbag had just robbed a bank, and escaped in a green Maverick right through the very same area, 15 miles from home, that I had just driven my green Comet through.

    Cops couldn't even tell a Maverick from a Comet ... weak ... :rofl2:
To make matters worse ... it was a big bumper Mav .... come on, guys ...

Of course, the cops were being tight-lipped and not telling me a thing at the time.

I had long hair and a goatee at the time ... naturally, the grainy bank survelliance picture in the newspaper the next day shows the robber wearing the worst Halloween wig and goatee get-up that you have ever seen in your life... nothing like adding insult to injury. I shaved immediately and got a haircut when I saw that.... didn't feel like having a repeat of that day anytime soon.

It took almost a year, but they did catch the guy finally.

A couple months ago I just finished installing my air shock and went to test them out in my culvasac (I don't know how to spell it) with my bro in law,it had just rained and my broinlaw wanted to light them up so we switched spots and right when we moved only a couple of feet a cop appeared out of nowhere and pulled us over cause we didn't have our seat belts on  he only gave us a warning but I thought it was pretty dumb
