What's up, guys! Hey, you know the sensor that plugs into the proportioning valve that turns the dash light (brake light) on telling you that you're screwed if the car is moving and the brakes fail? Well, what would be the recommended thing to do with that particular plug/wiring if you're installing an after-market wiring harness to replace the stock one and it doesn't come with a lead for it? Do you just disconnect it and get real good at down-shifting? Thanks, again, Eric
i have mine disconnected ever since switching to disc. as far as the downshifting in an emergency, having the light come on when the pedal hit the floor did not help me at all. still had to do all the shifting and e braking by myself
No big deal to hook up, one lead goes to the dash indicator bulb (the other side of bulb goes to ground) and the other lead goes to a key-on hot. Russ
Mine's disconnected on my Mustang and soon will be on the Maverick when I put my adjustable proportioning valve in. I won't even have a light when I redo the instrument cluster. You'll know if you have a brake problem by the feel of the pedal long before that light comes on.
Put a switch on your parking brake that activates that light to let you know the brake is set before you drive 20 miles.
