Was wondering if any one who has done an efi swap has put on a supercharger? And if so how did it fit?
I would just get a procharger and keep it Carbed... you can see more horespower gains and its cheaper with the procharger... just call them up and ask about it.. they only label it as a chevy supercharger set up but it is universal.

i think where you will find problems is where to mount all your accessories and to mount the charger it’s self. but if there is a will there is a way! i’ve seen the carbed one with a blow though set up it would be just like one of those old Paxton setups on a mustang just hard as hell to change the pwr steering if you have one on a maverick. IMO blow thoughs don’t work as good as an efi set up. Would I want a blow though on my car? well hell yeah.. infact, yes there are some fast blow though cars, even running 8’s but shoving forced air though a carb don’t seem as efficient to me as an efi system. and besides those types of carbs for a blow though i would think are not very cheap! also what about the piping? and clearance? i’d plan very carefully! if you are cutting shock towers out you’ll have more room for the piping and what not too. as for intercooler i don’t think you’d beable to fit one in front of a maverick unless you did some major cutting! just my thoughts if you even finish it i would love to see it! good luck
I have a Kenne Bell on my 5L Lincoln if that helps. Put three different centifigals on a 93 Mustang over a peroid of time. If I get a chance I will put another K.B. on my 73 EFI Comet. It's insane power but !!
most everyone on the board already knows which type I prefer. Just check the archives or search for turbo. Yes, the Kenne Bell is nice (and makes intant power) but you cannot beat a turbo for a sleeper street motor. Smooth idle, yet it's possible to make anywhere from 300 HP to 1000 HP easily (with the right parts) with a turn of a screw, replacing a few springs, or simply pushing a button. Sure fooled a lot of folks around here. Who'd figure a single-exhaust smooth idle Maverick could smoke 'em at any speed, and in any gear, and on any type of pavement. It was fun!
Yes ,I was thinking about the intercooler too and the lack of space out front. Thinking I'll have to get the motor together and start taking measurements. Might end up with a pretty wild looking intake tract. Maverick Man, loved the car craft article, think that's part of what finally got me going on this. Doing the twin turbo thing on a El Camino with a tuned port.
I was thinking of doing the same on my Comet Has anyone ever had a centrifical charger on a Mav. or Comet.I'm looking at the Procharger D-1SC.With a built 331 It should go 10's.may be faster dependent on the engine.
Hey yea just became a new member today when i saw people talking about prochargers on mavericks. I got a procharger W/ a (Smaller) intercooler on my 73 Grabber 302 carburated. It all fits under the hood (thats the best part about it) The blower fits like a glove and looks really mean too, but part of the blower intake sits about 3 inches in front of the shock tower so makes air filtration a little hard. Ill try to gets some pictures posted up sometime but if anyone has any question about it ill be gald to answer them for ya. I was also checking too, if anyone has or heard of anyone putting a centrifugal supercharger on their maverick or comet, let me know if u find out. Thanks Joe W. ProchargerMAV
I Know I would like to see some pics when you can post some, i,ve got a p600b, going on a 74, kinda got stalled wanting to do the m2 front end first. but if i can see how yours fit, maybe i,ll just get it going with a carb.
