this morning i put p/s fluid in. when i started the car the wheels turned to the left hard by them self. what would cause this? i have a new p/s pump and all new hoses. it turned so hard and fast it bent my p/s drop bracket. while running wheels will not turn to the right. turn the car off and its fine. yes i do want to keep the p/s. clogged hose . thanks
I have read about people haveing this problem several times on here, reversing the lines (to the control valve) seems to solve the problem.
The lines to reverse are the ones from the control valve to the slave cylinder...they are identical and it is real easy to get them reversed (I have done that too many times over the years )
Yours sounds more serious, but, the control valve has a screw in the end that hangs out, under a cap held on by two screws. If you turn the big screw one way, it will make the steering "lean" toward one side, and if you turn it the other, it "leans" the other way. "Lean" means if it is jacked up, and you rev the motor, the steering will turn one way or another. If adjusted correctly, it should stay centered when it revs. It might pull a little when driving, but I wouldn't expect a violent jerk to the side. Again, your problem sounds more severe than this, but I thought I would throw this out just in case...
