Is there any way to rebuild a Ford power steering that won't leak? I am trying to decide if I want to stay with the power steering or change to manual. It seems like every one I see leaks from somewhere , and my friend that works at a Ford dealership tells me in the 70's alot of them leaked on the lot when they were brand new. I don't want to spend a bunch of money to rebuild it if I am going to hate it later.

Autokrafters sells re-mans or will re-build yourse.Cost 139.95 for the controll valve assembly the ram(power valve)goes for139.95/149.95 core chg is100.00 bucks. You can get individual components as well to do it your self. Some guys just go to manual steering by changing the center link and pitman arm or adapter to convert existing stuff to manual. The adapter cost as much as a new/reman controll valve. So its up to you,the stuff is out there.Good luck.

I have a complete manual set-up but I would rather use my power steering to keep it original , but I don't want to fight leaks. I guess my question is has anyone had luck with their power steering not leaking for the long term.
