power steering issues

    does anyonr rebuild the power steering on these things?what do you call that little shock/valve abortion on the steering linkage?its got a 1/2 inch of grease on it and it looks poorly thought out.JS.is there a difference in manual /pwr steering boxes?

    You can buy a rebuilt Power Steering Control Valve from Autozone or Oreillys. can also get the Power Assist Cylinder too. I took all that out of my car and changed it over to manual. The boxes are different, have different gear ratios in them. I still use a power steering box with manual steering.

    I would suggest removing what you have and send it in to get rebuilt. Not all slave cylinders and control valve's are the same from car to car. I recommend Rode's Restoration in Galion, Ohio. They do an excellent job of rebuild all the steering components.
