Has anyone out there added a power brake booster and left their durm brakes as is? (I do not want to loose my stock rims and hub caps plus the extra cost of disc setups). If so, what booster did you use and are you happy with the result? Thanks, Don- 73 Grabber 302 :)

Had the same question about boosted drum brakes, but on an F100. I intend to do it (temporarily). See posts starting with #83 here http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=87879&page=9 .

I did read one report of drums splitting when boosted but don't know if its a real problem with serviceable drums.

In my opinion....you will never be happy with POWER drum brakes. By and large...and in MY opinion, drum brakes suck. POWER drum brakes would suck even more. Save up your money and get disc brakes. Factory wheels can be found to fit disc brakes.

My first car was a 65 Falcon with non-power drum brakes - my second car was a 65 Buick Skylark with power drum brakes. The Skylark was like night and day over the Falcon as far as stopping goes but I had no comparrison to disc brakes at the time. That being said, I'm sure adding power to drums would help but I would advise going the front disc route if you have the chance to do so before adding the booster. (y)

    F-100 booster Fit

Has anyone installed the f-100 booster on their maverick? Did it fit without modifications and clear the shock tower?
