Points ignition - 1974 Coil Question

QUESTION: The coil for a 1974 Maverick 250 with points ignition : does it use constant 12V or have wire harness "Resistor Wire" - 'pink wire' from ignition switch terminal like older 'stangs, Falcs, most Fords ... .

... readying convert to DSII and need Ign. switched - 12V not the coil end of resistance wire - if used . Also there is a constant (?) 12V lead at the carb ( cutoff? / choke?) possibly could be used for DSII ignition B+ if I knew original use/purpose ? ( enough power for ignition? ).

info appreciated, anecdotes not so much...
    thanks

Mav uses the pink rubber coated resistance wire, as do all Fords from early '60s...

I believe there may be a wire associated with the seat belt interrupt, maybe someone can point to location & color...Wasn't one in my '72 so I'm using the resistance wire to trigger a relay... Only gives .2v drop, relay doesn't care about a couple tenths...
