I have a 65 commet wagon manual steer car. It has alot of play I cant find a rag joint (steering cupler disc) on the car. The play seems to be coming from the gear box. Is this something I can fix or will I need to buy a new or reman gear box.:hmmm:

You car did not come with a rag joint. You can try and adjust you steering box but most likely it will need to be rebuilt. See http://falconfaq.dyndns.org/display...ual_60-62&db=Falcon&table=FSM_6062&Page=8-002 and keep clicking 'Next Page' if you want to see how to adjust or rebuild. I think the 65 Comet/Falcon used the same steering box as the Mustang. The shaft length from the box to the steering wheel would be the only difference if any.
