About two weeks ago I found a supplier that manufactures a bracket with a clutch pivot ball that bolts to the newer 5.0 to allow installation into older mechanical linkage manual vehicles. Now I can't seem to find it! I've looked at total performance but can't seem to find it there! Just so folks know what I'm referring to! The newer 5.0s do not have a threaded hole for the clutch Z-bar pivot ball. I know that aftermarket brackets are availble that bolt to the bell housing and position the pivot ball in the same location as the older blocks!

You can get the bracket at just about any Mustang Supply house ... I bought mine from Total Performance ... 586-468-3710 ...

They come with a Mustang Pivot ... the pivot will not work with a Maverick V8 z-bar ... The Maverick V8 pivot screws into the bracket no problem.

Yup ... the mysterious and rare Maverick V8 Pivot ball ... as far as I can tell 3-speeed manual cars that had a 250-6 engine used the same pivot ball ... I cannot verify this 100% but I have a 250 z-bar and the V8 Pivot ball fits perfectly in it ...

windsor fox doesn't carry them any longer. does total performance have a website. I found a total performance site but I don't think it is the same company? Thanks for the heads up on the pivot ball in the six bangers.

They have no website ... they are a division of Ford Motorsports ... you have to call and order by phone .. Let me know how you make out with the 250 Pivot ball ... However, I would say that 250's with a 3-speed are probably rarer than a 302 with a 3-speed ... also 250's were not available with a 3-speed until 1974. Prior do that you could only get them with an automatic ...
