phantom turn signals

    Has anyone ever mounted functional turn signals behind the front grille...my car is a 70..i can already tell original turn signals that mount under the bumoper will be tough to find and id like to do something alil different...just wanted to get.opinions on.how it would look

    err.. wait.. even that doesn't matter around here does it?! :biglaugh:

    I think they look OK if you're into that sort of thing.. but I'd probably look for clear lenses w/ yellow bulbs to help accomplish the "phantom" part a bit better.

    Recently saw a guy that gets bumpers (not a Maverick though) and drills or cuts holes in the and mounts led signals behind a sculpted lens on Restomod cars. If the lenses are clear they are barely visable. On a Maverick it would be something like this.

    Personally I'd find the factory ones. They aren't too expensive with the amber lenses.

    You could use some motorcycle lamps mounts to the gravel shield too as a cheap way out. I recently bought some motorcycle brake/turn signals for my trailer that worked out really good. I think I gave $15 for a set.
