Todd, I am thinking along the same lines. I want a supercharger, but I don't want something sticking out of the hood. I don't want to advertise ;) I, too will appreciate any info on this matter. I have a pic somewhere of a maverick with a paxton, I'll try to hunt it up. Till then.........Preston

Here is the picture, as originally posted by Mavaholic on 01/12/04.
I will post the pic of the whole car next. Pretty sweet if you ask me. Mavaholic may have contact info for the owner, who might just let us in on the tips of getting that thing in there. Here you go. Preston

They make a kit that can be installed by most people in a weekend. If you stick with a carburetor, modifications will need to be made to the carburetor so that it can handle the "blow through" design. I've seen lots of these setups on lots of different cars!

Steve, I may be wrong but I don't think you have to make carb mods when you use this type of setup. The old way where they just put a tube to the top of the carb needed changes, but I believe the one like this where the whole carb is under the same amount of pressure works like it is. You can run any pressure that the FI guys run where the blow through kind could only handle about 12#s max.

i do belive step is right modifications will need to be made to the carburetor so that it can handle the "blow through" design.

one thing this guy what i haven't seen on one if these set up is a blow off type valve. Works on turbos and supercharged efi setups.

anyhow that looks like a procharger not a paxton. aren't prochargers gear driven and paxton a bearing set up?

i like that set up too.. thing is, if you go to the shows now days everyones got this set up... something gota make this thing look differant.... hum? ideas?

also that car have a hood scoop or was it using a stock hood?

Well, i was thinking seriously about doin this to my car. I know i would want some forged low compression pistons better rods relatively stock heads???? and a holley 4150 mechanical secondary carb and the setup itself as it comes with the fuel pump and oil inlets and outlets for the super. I just need some verifying info and the oopps dont forget this info? you know?

Mavaholic do you recall what type of hood was on this car. Intake height makes a difference but it appears this setup will clear a stock hood.

Well if any one else hasn't done the pro charger, i'm still trying to get the motor in the car. the one i have is for a carb setup, they tell you to remove the choke and mill the choke housing off, and something about the bowl vents on a holley, plus some mods to the fuel pump to make it boost referenced. also trying to figure out some place to mount an intercooler, (passenger seat maybe?)
lol, hope to have it at least in and running in a month or so.
