I'll be leaving on a little journey to get my new 302 4 door from Craig Selvey this Friday. :bananaman Maybe some of you saw it at the roundup? I can't wait to get a family car with some character. I want to try and raise my kids on Mavericks like I was, and hope they will appreciate working on cars as much as I do. I would love for my son to have it when he is ready to drive in  about 6 years. My daughter still likes my Mustang, but I'm working on that.

I think a nice restoration is in order with some dual exhaust and fresh (original color) paint and nice wheels will be in order. I'll keep my progress posted as best I can.:D

Wow! Sounds like an adventure, I love those kind of trips. I have made a couple trips like that myself in pursuit of bringing a Maverick home. Some great memories! :) Are you going to drive it back or trailer it?

    Back in Omaha

My brother and I got back to Omaha about 8am this morning. We decided to make the trip all in one shot. 26 hours on the road can sure wear you out.

My first experience with the car was bittersweet. I drove it off the trailer and went to get some gas in it and have some fun toolin' round town for a short while. I went to start it up after putting gas in it and the starter locked up dead in its tracks.:slap: Stranded at the gas station, I called my brother who still had the trailer and came to rescue me again. (My brother is one great guy-thanks Matt) and we used the come-a-long to put it back on. We went to the parts store and found one for about $20 and went home to put it on. It fired right up.

I'm not upset but it sure seems ironic. How many times has that starter turned over and on my first drive it fails. I'm lucky that way. Oh well thats life and you just gotta laugh at it sometimes. The drive back from the parts store went much better. That little sucker is pretty peppy.

I'm gonna get some sleep now, been up for 30+ hours now. I'll get back to you guys later tonight. See ya!

Well, Bruce.....aren't you glad you trailered it home? No starter at 3 in the morning would be no fun.
