When at a dead stop, every time i accelerate, right after the car shifts out of first gear my oli light comes on and then goes off. I just got the oil changed about 3 weeks ago. I have no idea why this light keeps comming on. :hmmm: Any suggestions? (1973, 302/V8, automatic)

Be sure the oil level is full. Best to check it first thing in the morning before start up. Sounds like the oil is being thrown to the back of the pan and the pick-up is not being able to get any remaining oil up to the pump until the oil is thrown back to the front sump. If the dipstick shows full, may have a pick up tube or screen problem or even the wrong dipstick. Could also be plugged oil return holes in the cyl. heads, not letting enough oil to return to the pan quickly enough to keep the level full enough for the pick-up to reach it??????

That sounds like a pressure problem to me.
If it wasn't doing it at a stop/idle, I would say the level is low and causing brief shortages of oil while moving.

First thing to do is get a mechanical oil pressure gauge and put on there at least temporarily to make sure pressure is a problem.
If pressure is good, check the sender wires and sender itself.
If pressure is bad... could be something clogged, worn out pump, worn out bearings, etc...

    Edit:
What oil brand/weight do you normally use?
What did they go back with when you had the oil changed?
How long since the last change?
Did the light start right away or soon after the oil change?
    Or before the change?

It could be a loose connection at the sender. The jerk from first to second may be just enough to move the wire and break the connection or check to see if the sender is leaking. If it is they sometimes have intermittent problems until they fail completely.
