    New to this board also!:D I just last week purchased 74 302 Maverick 3speed:D The engine Is factory stock, 55,000 miles runs great, no smoke 60 to 70lbs oil pressure. What the hell Is the horsepower & torque? Cant find :p

    Welcome to the wonderful world of the Maverick. You've found a great place for info. These guys and gals know more about Mavericks and Comets than anyone else,and are willing to share there knowledge. The 74 Mav 302 has 140 hp. Sorry I don't know the torque rating. Russ

    The 302 in a mav will haul balls. The cars are pretty light so there is alot of potential. They are usually pretty fast even stock. A set of headers and a 4 barrel will go along way. Got any pics?

    according to my chiltons manual the torque is 234 at 2200rpm
