I have a 45 year passion for the old car hobby. I have an interesting 1971 Maverick and have owned for several years. The car is a white 2 door coupe, blue interior, and has a 200 inch 6 and auto. The unique thing about this car is that it has 5,817 actual miles and can't be told from new. probably the best original in the country, unless Ford Dearborn has one in the Ford museum. It still has the 5 - 6:45X14 original tires.

Sounds like a nice piece, Russ!

The chartreuse one, formerly of the Towe collection, I believe only has about 100 or less miles on it. At least it did when I saw it. It was purchased new and placed in the museum.

Might want to check first. I was told the automotive section of the museum is closed for the remainder of the year for renovating. Supposedly, the only cars that can be seen are the presidential limos, 3 vintage race cars, and 1 Mustang. I guess all the non-automotive stuff is still open though.

I have been there half a dozen times and the car collection is pretty impressive.

That will be interesting to see. The last time I was there...the cars were smack dab in the middle of the museum.

This was posted yesterday on another forum:

"I just got back from a family vacation with my wife and two kids. We were in Canada for most of it, but on the way home we wanted to go to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. After we bought tickets to get in and walked into the gallery, the woman took our tickets at informed us that the car gallery was closed for renovation. What we got to see was planes, trains, industry and agriculture. The only cars on display were the presidential cars, the first mustang, and three vintage race cars. What a disappointment! The car gallery will be shut down for the rest of the year. I feel like they should have informed us of the closer before we paid for the tickets."

Sounds like a nice car. I once found a 74 with just over 4000miles on it, I passed, and lost track of it. I've been told it's still around, but in storage.
