Hello everyone. I ordered my first brand new car March 31, 1970. On April 20, 1970 i was the proud owner of a Bright Yellow 250CID automatic 2-door Maverick with Nugget Gold Blazer cloth trim and the accent group. It was mine for the princely sum of $2810 Canadian . That was with tax and a $234 discount. All was good until Ford announced the V8 302 option for 1971. Every 19 year old NEEDS a V8!!! In March of 1972 I bought a slightly used double black 2-door V8 3-speed on the floor bench seat Maverick. What a car that was. I had tons of fun with that. Life happened and I sold the car in 1976. I've wished ever since I had kept it. I've built 2 Street Rods, a 1937 Ford Model Y 2-door sedan and a 1937 Ford 2-door Humpback sedan and had 10 years of fun with those 2 cars. But I still have a soft spot for my black Maverick. I hope belonging to a site where people share the same love of these cars will help me in my quest to find a replacement for my V8 car. I've waited 30 years to do this and now I'm retired and ready to search.
It sure is good to have you here, and we certainly do love our Mavericks and Comets! I hope you find your car!
, this is a great site for Maverick enthusiasts, you will most likely find what you're looking for here. I can relate to how you said 'life happened'.. Welcome again to the board.
to the board! Good to see another Canadian! Where abouts in Canada are you from? If you have any questions...someone here will have done it or know someone who has. Good luck with your search(have you checked out the "for sale" section?)
to the board!! Everyone here is quite fanatical about Mavs and Comets so you'll likely have lots to talk about.
Gramps1951 Great story - there are some really good cars out there yet to be found. Your will come along soon I'm sure.
to the board. By looking at your name, you were born in 1951. If you look around the board, there are alot of Gramps on here. Mine is 1950....
