New Here.. Looking for Comet lovers advice.

    Hello Everyone.
    My husband has his old friend's Comet. It is a 76, and 4 door, it was garaged kept and has a little over 19,000 miles on the engine. Body is in good shape ( dove gray)along with interior ( black). Pennsylvania inspection, Dec. 07. Runs like a champ. We have a son soon to be going to college, based on this information: What would it's sales value be ? My husband is very sentimental and really does not want to part with it, but we may have to do just that. Thank you for your advice. Jeannine

    As for price on a 4 door Comet, it will probably be worth more in sentimental value that what you can sell the car for. There's not a big demend for 4 door cars. However, with the low mileage you might find somebody that just has to have it. If you could post some pics for us to see it would be a big help. Good luck with it...whatever you decide to do. (y)

    Plus....what options and equipment does it have?? Air conditioning, power steering, engine size, power disc brakes, etc.

    your comet actually sounds alot like mine. '76 4door, light grey with a blac interior. i'd imagine yours is much nicer tho(y)

    Welcome to the board. As far as value goes you can check ebay and craigs list to see what others are going for. Low mileage is a plus, but 6 cylinder and 4 drs. are a minus. good luck. plaesa post some pics if you can.

    Hello fellow Maverick\ Comet owners, I'm glad I located your site, I've owned my 1976 Mercury Comet since new, it's been sitting a long time in the garage has 49,000 kms, I've redone the engine, converted to a 4 speed manual trans & put an eight in. posi in. The car has original paint but it's time to be re-painted & I need to find some new chrome bumpers & other misc. items any help or information would be appreciated
