need weight of trany?

    pickin up 302 stock trans from 73 mav this weekend wonderin if anyone knew how much they weighed? do i need a motor lift or 3 big guys to get it into my truck?

    bell housing hoses etc still attached

    You might be able to handle it yourself...if not 2 people can. My guess is about 65 pounds

    i can pick it up by myself but i am '6-7'' ? yah it is around 60 pounds

    you can only lift it after you accidentally kick it with sandals on then spin around, slip on the atf you dumped on the floor, fall on it, bruise your side, and rip the heck out of your pants! then you can lift it up easy!:sweep:

    The C4 weighs close to 75lbs - add to that the converter.
    Use a jack to install it but you can load / unload by hand - unless your doctor tells you not to lift more than ten pounds or you will blow out the disks in your back that are already bulging and causing the pain that makes you feel 20 years older.

    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    I remember the first time i lifted a c4 i thought i was superman. Lol later i found out it was aluminum i was around 14 years old i think.

    I prefer to use the 2 man method,,,and then I just tell them where to put it.:D

    Seriously, have a friend help. It'll save getting grease and dirt all over yourself or tranny fluids. :)
