I AM PULLING MY 6CYL.,OUT TO DROP IN A 302V8. I WANT TO START THE ENGINE,BEFORE I PUT IT IN.I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WIRE IT UP,TEMPORARILY TO GET IT STARTED. IT'S GOING IN A 73'MAVERICK,I DRIVE IT DAILY TO WORK,SO I NEED TO MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS IN GOOD SHAPE....FOR A QUICK SWAP! ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, THANKS CARL MAXX
You will want a rack of some kind to set the engine in, You need a battery, ignition resistor, on-off switch for ignition, push button start switch, solenoid, starter and cables. You will want a can of gas and a hose to connect it to your pump. Make sure you have some kind of throttle control and a return to close spring.
this remindes me of another post on here a while back about how people would start the motor on the ground and it would go rolling away. that was funny stuff.
