I have found a plate that was fastened between the coil and the block. Its about a half inch tall by about 3 and 1/2 inches long. (I can't find the cord that goes from my camera to the computer or I would take a picture of it!) Anyway, I can decipher some of the information but not all. This is what it has on it in these locations. 200 70 12 0-E Ford K26-AG The car does not have a door tag and I am just trying to find out any information on what the original body/interior colors were. I know for sure it is a 1970 with a 200 I-6 and 3-speed auto. I believe but am not positive that it was factory A/C. I was already able to decode the VIN, but from there on out, I know nothing! Thanks for your help!
Is anything on there important or interesting to know? Or is it just useless? I cannot find the tag that everyone says is on the radiator supprt. Maybe the car was in an accident and it was replaced??
Not all cars had buck tags.. as far as I know only Wayne and St.Thomas built cars had them. You would probably need to get a 999 report from Ford (free) or a Marti report (not free) to find out any more info about your car.
How do I go about doing that? I am also trying to decode my thunderbird door tags and each website tells me something different. Is there an official decoding website? Or should I just get those reports? Which report is better 999 or marti?
Marti report is the best, but you have to pay for it. www.martiautoworks.com The 999 comes from Ford, you have to call Customer Service, then wait till they do it, I waited 2 months once, I had my Marti report in a week.
