hey guys my fuel thing next to the odometer were it says how much gas i have dosn't work i got a bober from another maverick gas tank but i havent put it on yet hopefuly it works if it doesnt what else could be the problem and how can i fix it. how many gallons does the gas tank hold?
Go to the tank and unplug the connector to the fuel sender unit. Short the 2 pins together in the plug. Turn the key on a if the gauge goes to full, the sending unit is bad. Could be the sending unit is good but the float has developed a leak and dont float anymore. The float is available from Ford. If it still dont work, its either the gauge or voltage regulator on the back of the dash. Thats providing there is 12v on one side of the regulator.
