Well ive got a 250 inline 6, and im thinkin about just changin out the muffler to change up the sound a bit.

i dont wana redo the whole exhaust cuz eventually im going v-8 and ill do it all then

but heres where i am having trouble, what should i go with, a turbo type muffler, or a glasspack

its hard cuz i keep hearing them on v8s and thats not a very comparitive sound, so what do u guys think, turbo type muffler (flowmasterish design) or glasspack

any sound clips of either would be awesome too, ive searched around the board plenty, just thought id ask u guys opinion:thumbs2:

i was thinking exactly like you were and cut my original muffler and replaced it with a turbo and it didnt do crap

i definatly think glasspacks would be the way to go or i could send you my cherry bomb turbo if you want lol

Sorry i can't vote. From my experience a 6cyl generally doesn't sound good loud. They usually just become obnoxious.I would put two mufflers on it just to try and get it as quiet as humanly possible.
I like the sound of a v8 with a loud exhaust but more times than not a 6 banger with a aftermarket performance muffler ends up sounding like a wet fart.

My son had a v6 pickup that had a single glasspack just behind the cab, then it split into duals behind that. Both pipes went over the axle together then went to each side behind the tires. It sounded real good, had a deep, throaty sound, but then again, it was a v6. An inline might sound totally different.

If you think an I6 sounds better then a V6, I'd suggest watching this clip:

There is no way you're going to get an I6 to sound like that...

how did they get it to sound like that? ive heard v6s with flowmasters and they sound good untill they get on the throttle, but that sounded sweet..

That sounds so much like my wife's 250 with the duals that it is scary. Hers isn't quite that loud but the sound is so close.....
The 250 is an inline six.
