Joy bought me that Mr. Clean car wash system for Father's Day. I was skeptical, but decided to try it anyway. I could always return it. I washed the Bronco this morning just as the directions said. I even was using hard city water. The results were amazing! It actually works. There were absolutely NO water spots anywhere including the glass and chrome after the SUV air dried. I never picked up a drying rag at all!! It is a multi step process using this system. First, you rinse off the car, then turn the switch on the sprayer and spray the special soap all over. You still have to wash the car then using a rag or sponge. Next, you rinse it off completely. Finally, you switch the sprayer to the filtered water setting and spray the car again very well. That's it! I never would have believed it if I didn't try it myself.
I been wondering bout that stuff, but had not run into anyone who has used it yet. Thanks for the testamonial. Dan
I thought the same thing that that MR clean thing is a gimic, But im an old fashion kinda guy and nearly believe that washing a car by hand is almost a bonding experince. Im very fortunate to live in a place where the city water isn't "hard" in fact the water coming out of our taps is rated #3 in the world I believe, beter then most bottled water. Works great for washing cars haha
My Daughter bought me that Mr Clean thing and I wasent that impressed with it. I like nice soappy water for washing and this wasent to my satisfaction. It did dry spot free, but then, I like drying cars and its never been a problem anyway. I dont know what the replacement cartridges cost but it's not worth the money in my opinion.
I've seen a few commercials for it, but it really didn't look worth the $. I'll have to try it out... David
I dont know what the replacement cartridges cost... At the local WalMart replacement cartridges are $4.89 each, says they're good for approximately 10 washes, depending on how much minerals are in your water. And a bottle of the special detergent is just over $5. That bald guy's gonna be able to afford a wig soon!
Dennis is right that it ends up being more expensive than just getting a good soap and dragging out the shammy and rags. Barry was right on about the replacement items for the system. You have to use the exact replacement soap and filter or it won't work. It's all in what you want to do. I did the Stallion before we went to the show on Sunday and the results were the same as on the Bronco. We all know how black shows everything and there was not spot one. This thing is a great option, however, if you want something that you can do a quick wash and just get in and go and have the car look great.
