what motor mounts are you guys running for v8s...ive checked with all my local parts stores and they say they cant get the v8 mounts anymore....is there another car of close year that carried the same mounts or what else could i outside of building something....ive used the search but cant find much on the topic...my car is a 1970 and it had a v8 before so the stands in the car are correct..i jst need mounts to bolt on the motor
It's kinda odd that they don't carry them, all of mine have them. Why not just order them online? http://www.ebay.com/itm/3pc-Motor-T...ts=Model:Maverick&hash=item2ec3faf9fd&vxp=mtr
Rock Auto shows a DEA #A2316. I have not replaced mine yet... maybe someone can offer first hand experience.
.. yea i put a v8 in a 70 about three years and got the correct mounts easily from the local parts store....i would prefer to buy local...would be faster...im ready to put this baby in the car and roll haha
when you were asking for mounts did you tell the it was for a 1970 ford maverick? if you did their computer will show none, because no 70s came with a V8. You have to ask for a 1971-1977.
Yes, looks to be a low supply issue as checking many online parts stores shows "call for availability" - did see Rock auto has them and ebay has several. I opted for USA made factory ones myself, as I really like the factory pinned ones. You can also add a pin to the aftermarket ones yourself for safety.
Make sure you get the OEM mounts made in USA with the saftey pins going through them. The ones made in India are junk, and do not have the safety pins. Also beware of sellers (like on evilBay) charging $45 or more for a pair of the Indian-made ones. They cost 9 bucks a piece retail, and some individuals like to buy them and the resell them for a profit. Try places like Car Quest. That's were I got mine, but it was a few years ago.
This spring when i installed my V8 I ended up buying the foreign POS mounts(i was in a bind and needed them fast) they are crap!! they looked like they where hemmer'ed out by a black smith. i had to straighten them out in a vice and grind the bolt holes out on one of them so they would bolt to the motor. Had a hell of a time getting them to go over the frame mounts. long story short BUY AMERICAN!!!
