Looks great. Do you know the weight of it yet?

    Good luck at the track.

the guy i bought it from said it was 2500 pounds with the steel headed big block ford in it. it is all steel. the nose is stock, just braced together to come off in one piece.the trunk is pinned on,but is a skin of a steel one. the windows are all lexan, sides and front-rear. i am changing the front back to glass, but leaving the rest. i hope it still comes in around 2300--2500 pounds with my aluminum headed big block chevy in it. should be a fun ride. here is a pic of my lemans launching at atco. that car weighs 4200 pounds, and is all steel and ran 9.91 at 136. the whole drivetrain is headed for the maverick, and i want to be in the 8.20's to run in the 8.50 class at atco next year.

i bought it rolling. the 460 went into the guys new car,a 70 mustang. the lemans is going to be put back to pontiac power for a street car. and that leaves the bbc avalible to go into the maverick. if it helps you feel better the lemans has a ford 9 inch rear in it.:rofl2:

Nice ride, am a bit disturbed at the engine swap too, but if that is his expertise, that is what makes hot rodding so much fun. Always thought that whenever someone put one of those bowtie's in a Ford, Old "Henry" himself, got another nail in his coffin. Good luck with it any way you go.

this maverick is so far modified that the only ford pieces left are the body panels. it is no different than every top fuel class ,reguardless of body, runs a chrysler designed hemi. (i know they are not chrysler hemis...just making a point)

as far as i am concerned,it just needs to go fast.

    i promise i'll keep the hood closed!:D

take that BBC and sell it to a chebbie guy , take that money , build a super small block stroker, big blocks weigh alot, and if ya think you cant go fast w/ a small block , ask riporter, low 5s in the 1/8th . i know you can never go to fast but thats movin

but hey its whatever you want....i believe fords are for fords and chevys are for chevys

keep us posted on updates GOOD LUCK

Give me that car, a few thousand, and I can guarantee I can make it faster with a SBF engine than you'd want to go. 2000 HP is not a big problem out of a SBF...just takes $$$....and a chassis to get the power to the ground.

But to each his own. If you already have a motor/trans, might as well use it. You'll catch hell from the Ford gurus though.

900-1000hp should be in the 7.50-8 sec 1/4 mile range
