I got the bug this weekend and did the car show thing. My car got lots of attention. The judges said it was the first Maverick they had seen in a car show in this area. Hopefully with the many upgrades I have planed for the near future, I can become a regular in the near future. Here are a couple of the notable other entries.

The red car is a 1968 Fairlane or Torino. More than likely a Torino GT. It could be a "replica". Yes....the fast backs are more prevelent....but the formal roof cars can be sharp as well.

Nice Grabber Xrs, awesome color. I like the oval air cleaner on Mavs.
That T-bird is amazing with the new DOHC Cobra engine. I had a red fastback GT like the Torino in the picture, that was a really cool car too, lots of memories from that picture. Good luck at future car shows, I am sure you will do great.

I went to 2 shows on Saturday. The Cowtown Cruise for a Cure and the Christian Classic Cruisers at North Hills Mall. Cruise for a Cure was held at Sundance Square downtown. The CCC show is every third Saturday, months April - October. If I dont make it down to the mini-meet in Waco, I will definatly be back for this show in October.

The coupes could be GTs too in 68-69.
Just the same, fastbacks could be 500s, My uncle has a Fairlane 500 f/b.
Fairlane denoted a lower trim level.
Torino was a higher trim level with more available options.
The 500s were Fairlane only, I don't know if GT was Fairlane, Torino, or both.
BTW: The Fairlane doesn't hold a candle to that pretty blue Maverick...(y)
May I ask what size tires are on the back of the Mav?

I forgot that. 1968 they were Fairlanes, 1969 they became Torinos, same car.
