I have been quietly working on producing a monte carlo bar for Mavs and Comets. I have the prototype. small tweeks to be done, Will be going to production soon. Is there any interest here for this product? I tried to add pictures to this post, having a problem with that. I do have pictures, if interested contact me and I will send them to you. Mounting plates are of 10 gauge metal. 1 inch tube steel, made in Hartford Wisconsin, U.S.A. Price still to be determined.
Fits 302 Yes, it will fit 302 type engines, I am going to be trying the prototype on a factory Air condtioned car over the weekend.
I have posted pictures on Flicker here is the link http://www.flickr.com/photos/36861143@N05/sets/72157624997091511/
Factory holes for 3 bolts, you will have to drill one hole if you want to use the 4th hole. If you don't want to drill, then just use the 3 factory holes. Hardware you can use the factory bolts, or get fancy. I used the bolts shown for contrast in the pictures.
While you are at it, why don't you do a couple more bars to get rid of the old flat sheet-metal "bars" that came stock. Here is an old pic of mine made by a member on this forum.
Will it be something that can be added to the original monte bar, in case someone buys one of those first, then wants the addition after you start making it?
It will be my own design for an export brace, don't know if that answers your question. But that is getting ahead of things. I just want to get the Monte Carlo bar out there. I love the way the prototype looks, and it really works. Did some hard cornering and it makes a big difference.
