I saw the one listed on ebay. That is the first I had ever heard of one.

well...it is Black...and supposedly a Molly...going by the VIN only...it is a Grabber with 302..the funny thing about this car is...it looks like it has a Comet tail light panel...the last four numbers in the Vin sequence code are 0001...maybe this was some kind of aftermarket customizing that was going on at the time.
I'll post more info as it becomes available.
    Thx for the help all.

    Looks a bit rough.

    And a 400hp 302?? Yeah, sure.

Never heard of a "Molly", and I've been into Mavericks for 22 years. Looks like a '73 Grabber to me...

Looks like the car was parked on the grass for two years and used in the winter as it comes with two snow tires, therefore it must rusty.

I think its just a regular Grabber.....

Are the rear end lights from a Vega?

Well I am now the proud owner of this car. I'll take possesion of it Tuesday.
I dont take much stock in what folks say the HP of there car is unless it has had a Dyno run on it.
Supposedly the only significant rust on the car is on the quarter panel that a new one is being provided.
I hope most Maverick owners arent as negative as the last 2 to post here
    Thx Rick

Riporter: The guys above you were not trying to be negative, but rather offer an explaination for a Maverick that they have never seen, and frankly don't think exist. It does appear to be a normal Grabber with some modifications, but I could be wrong. Strange things have happened with Mavericks over the years, and rarely Mavericks were customized by a dealership (75 Dragonfly Maverick for example); your's may have been one of them. However, considering the limited facts we know, and the fact that we have never seen or heard of a "Molly" Grabber, we are assuming that it was simply a modified 73 Grabber. Either way you have a good platform to build off of and restore. Good luck, and Congratulations! Fill us in with more details when you get in in your yard! Best of luck!

riporter, like Corbin stated Stephan and TL are in no way taking a hit at you but rather at the things stated in the ebay sales page.
I wish people would state what they know and not try to sound like they know what they are talking about. Like it awas stated that it has "4 speed slap shifter and will bark them in all 4 gears", unless it has a late model overdrive trans that is wrong because we all know c-4s are 3 speed(unless he was counting barking them in reverse). It takes one hell of a 302 to put out 400hp. Those are vega taillghts, not saying that it isn't an original idea. Anyways, for that price you have a good V-8 mav to start with and I hope you enjoy it

If you couldn't tell Im exremely excited about the car. My smile is bigger than the Smiley icon right now.
This project will be my first REAL resto project and I intend to do it right. Any expertise yall can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I was in High School when Mavericks came out...they have always intigued me, not to mention this is a Muscle car that not everyone has ie; Stangs and Camaro's.
I'll take some pics when I get it home and get it opened up and see if I can get them posted for all to see and comment on.
Again...is that not a Comet tailight panel?
    Hmmm...the plot thickens...lol
    Thx Rick:p

Nope, not Comet lights. I would be very excited if I were you as well! Once you get it, make sure to post specific questions you may have about it, and another feature of this board that is awesome is the search option. I use this all the time to find past discussions I want to view again, and to look up info. You can usually find some good info there, but if not, post away! Just browse around the board for a while, and you'll be able to find just about anything! :D

I have had 2 Mavericks rust away, so I know that they are prone to rust. When you get the car, I would like to see a picture of the floor pans and the trunk.

    Congrats on the purchase :bananaman

"...THE TOP SPEED IS RIGHT AROUND 160" :cough:bullshit:cough:

"...AND NOT BEEN DOGGED OUT" :D

Congrats on the purchase. I wouldn't attempt to get to 160 mph on the brakes that these cars come with. You might want to just keep in first gear and only do 80mph tops until you check it out more thoroughly. :D

    Congratualtions, again.

    Keep us posted,
