Saturday October 9, 2010 It's actually 20 miles west of downtown St. Louis off Interstate 44. The eastern edge of the Ozark foothills. Cars are optional as it is just great to see the people. Several of us discussed getting together in the fall prior to a long and hopefully not as cold winter. I am still working out all the details. BBQ on Saturday, I have the Dogwood Shelter Reserved in Route 66 State Park. There is a large grill, pavilion, ample parking, restrooms and playground nearby. Bring your bikes and comfortable shoes, plenty of easy riding/walking within the park. Lots of wildlife. I was there on 9/10 and saw several deer. I kind of have a history with this park as it was formerly the town that I grew up in. www.mostateparks.com/route66.htm I am working out the details on the hotel and post an update with the information. I have two hotels in mind and trying to get a reasonable rate established. Either way you will get a nice clean room, breakfast and an indoor pool to enjoy with the group Saturday night. Depending on interest I can come up with something for Sunday as well. Perhaps a drive through a local park with more wildlife for the kids. The a picnic lunch or lunch at a restaurant. Please reply if you are going to make it along with a head count (adult and kids) so I can plan for the correct amount of food.
