Can you use a old style mechanical lift cam in a newer roller block?

Also, how much rpm can stock rod bolts handle?
    Thanks Steve

    1) Yes.

    2) Probably would not want to turn it much past 7000. They'll take more than that but could be at the expense of longevity.

    Cam and lifters

Yes on the cam and lifters, as far as rod bolts go, definately put in some ARP or similiar bolts. The stock bolts, especially if they are used, can probably handle 5 to 6000rpm in a fairly stock motor. If the compression is bumped up, or cam and rpm range is increased, need to change them. They are only 5/16th's diameter and torqued to about 24lbs. When in doubt use good stuff or better rods with larger bolts.
