After 10 years I may have to sell my maverick, It is a street legal bracket car, runs mid to high 11's. I may be buying another 69 cougar drag car, forcing me to sell. I have over 25k into car. Is it worth 5k,10k,15k...? I have no clue. This car has won me over 15 grand in the last 5 years. Very consistant and reliable car. Your opinions would be helpful. Here's a few pics.
You might get a better answer if you tell us a little more about your car. Engine specs, trans, stall converter, gears , what kinda brakes, tires and rims, line loc, fuel cell, n20 etc......looks nice in pics, good times and nice air time. Edit: I love cougars too..........

Car is also very street friendly can't be more consistant, I always have indentical 60' times at least every time out. I really hate to sell this car, but a faster , back halved car has come available
Man pretty nice car and it makes you $3000 a year. Wow. I'd keep it if it makes you that kind of money. But if you have to sell it I'd say about 6 to 10 grand depending on the overall condition, but hey I'm no expert. Good luck, Cougars are cool too.
mavericks have been fetching considerable money lately. If it's as clean as you say, I'm gonna venture a guess that ten grand or so isn't too far off. Remember, you couldn't give these cars away just a few years ago!
What Mavericks have been fetching decent money lately? Tricked out Maverick's maybe...not bone stock or lightly modified ones. Maverick's IMO are probably the cheapest collector car out there right now. Being new to the Maverick game, I've yet to see a decent looking Maverick bring high dollar. Not yet at least. Not knocking the car for sale in the least...it's sweet.
Dad's Comet brought 17 grand in December of 2001. It wasn't THAT tricked out, mostly cosmetic stuff. Don't get me wrong, it would definately GO, but it wasn't going to pull no wheelies on the drag strip.
I'm just basing my opinion from what I've seen lately on Ebay Jamie. I'm new to the Maverick game. And I don't see many for sale in my area. Been a few pass thru Ebay that I thought were worth a lot more and didn't bring what I thought, they could be worth. I'm sure your Dad's car was exceptional to bring 17k. Love to see some pictures of that car.
Pics are in my signature. rayg-151 has well over twice as much in his as we had in the Comet. Just seems like he could get a good bit out of it. I guess it has to do with finding the right person that has the money and wants it bad enough.
over the last couple of years, that's what I've been seeing. Granted, a mav is still alot cheaper than a classic stang, both in the same condition, but everytime they come out in the recycler or local ads, the nice ones cost $. I've seen on ebay, and ads here, prices have gone up a lot. Just few years ago, a cherry mav could be had for just a couple of grand or less.
Thanks, your opinions are helpful. I think I will start at 10k and work from there Looking forward to having another 69 cougar , so I can have 2 identical cars, (trying to confuse my competition!) Sorry, I like mavericks , but love cougars more.
ray 10k doesn't seem out of the question to me. It's a good starting point and it high performance. I'd list what the interior is like etc....is it striped out or does it retain the stock (semi-stock) interior? Looks nice. I spent pretty much from the time I was about 11-23 at the race track near my house. Drag racing to roundy rounds....KilKare Speedway in Xenia.
