I went to one of the local drag strips in Phoenix and happened to see a Maverick running. It was running on a 13.33 index and was sounding good. I chased the car down in the staging lanes and it turned out to be our own Don Graham. What a small world! Nice putting a face with the name Don. See you again soon I'm sure.
Cool That's cool, it's always good to hear about the Mavericks/Comets out terrorizing the dragstrips!!! it's a small world after all......
hi steve, it was great meeting you at firebird on saturday night. like you say it's nice to put a face with the names you see here on the board. i had a pretty good night. the first run was against the points leader, the second round was against the NEW points leader. we got down to three cars and i got the bye run. everything was going right in my race for the wally trophy. then the gremlins struck. after the bye run i looked at the temp gauge. it was at 250. i thought i had forgotten to turn on the water pump and the fan. i got back to the pits and tried to cool it down. when we were called to the final round the temp was still over 200. i usually leave the line at 160. needless to say i didn't run the number or even close to it. sunday i checked out the car and found that the fan switch had fried and i didn't have a fan to cool down the car. this will be another chapter in my new book ( 1001 ways to lose at bracket racing) oh well if you worry about losing in bracket racing your in the wrong sport. wish we had gotten more time to talk, but it seemed like we were each going different ways. i'm sure we'll see each other again and thanks for the compliments
