If so, are they available for a 73? If not, can I interchange the fiberglass fenders from another year? Also, what about that front bumper on the 73? Looking to knock the weight of a 73 down...if I end up getting a 73. If it makes any difference there will be a M II front end on it as well....try to lose the front end weight because of the 460 going into it. It has aluminum heads, and an aluminum tunnel ram. No AC, no PS, battery WILL be located to the trunk. H2O pump will also be aluminum if not electric. I figure with the aluminum headed/intake w/o the acessories will put the weight down close to an all iron 302 with the accessories--with the battery in the front. With the fiberglass front end and everything listed I am very confident the weight will be less. Thank you much. Jeff Given
70-72 fenders are the same and 73-77 are the same. The only difference is the early ones have a notch in the lower front corner where the stone guard comes through. The notch will have to be filled to make it look right but isnt necessary for any other reason. They all bolt up the same and are interchangable. The front bumper on a 73 is unique to itself. Smaller than the 74-77 but bigger than the 70-72. You would probably have to adapt or fabricate mounting brackets to fit the early style on yours. Plus, if you use early bumpers, you will have to shorten your stone guard. You could also get a stone guard from an early version in which case, you will need the notches.
us body source says their fenders are for 74-77 and there $598. must be gold fiberglass. unlimited just says fiberglass fenders $198. they don't specify a year. i have a us body hood and i'm happy with the quality. have heard some negative things and some positive about unlimited. type in up22 to search for unlimited. watch out for the shipping costs. my hood from florida to az was about $150. also MAS has full glass front ends. i think they are about $499 and another $59 for the mounting kit. they advertise in most ford magazines.
