Thought some would think this is interesting considering it is a distant cousin of the maverick. Us old timers can appreciate the walk down memory lane.

I love the grill, but the backside looks like that ugly capri convertable they made in the mid-eighties.

mavaholic, I hear you. This thing has mid-late 60's fastback written all over it. I have never purchased a new car but this one is definitely worth some consideration. It is the concept car but it will supposedly look very similar when in production. The only real change will be with the power plant

This car has me drooling as well.

I have spoken to many people about this one, though everyone agrees it is just the prototype, many think it is indeed close. One thing that a ford insider said was that the actual one will be more "vuluptuous".

this new mustang might take a lot of people by surpise, and fire up a new mustang revolution again.

I seen them do a small feature on this car on one of the many car shows on TV. The wheel base is suppose to be a little shorter(on the production models) and the production models is a little narrower(?) It looks like a modern day "Eleanor".

I think it looks great but that interior is ugly as hell. absolutely gawdy and doesn't match the rest of the car. The lower front bumper looks like that of a Subaru Outback...

My Wife has already said "there will be a red one in my garage next to my orange Maverick", I think I will need sunglasses just to be in there. My reply to the wife is "fine, but dont ever look under the hood"....lol.

Would be nice to see the Maverick used in the Ford line-up again.
But when thinking of it, the Maverick, unlike the Comet only had
one incarnation. That is, the Mav retained its same platform in it's
8 year run. If Ford had continued the name, could it have been
the Escort? Or the Festiva? The Mustang has really been an
incredible run of a car, but many do not like most of them from the
1974 -1978 period. While that particular style is now gaining popularity, it is mostly cult like. Much like the Mav/Comets had for
years, now we are seeing a huge explosion of interest in these cars. One of the best things about the Maverick, is the fact that when someone says "Maverick" you only have one bodystyle in mind. I think that makes it a much more interesting deal.
Even though the 1974-1978 Mustangs are not that popular, ( I owned a 1976 Cobra 302 4spd in the late seventies and really
loved it) they sold extremely well, just like the Mavericks. I do think the 05 stangs are going to be exciting, and I am very glad the Mustang is still in production.
Well, now I am off my soapbox, this offer void in NV, MN, WA and Peoria.
